After a close 4-3 loss to the Mud Hens last night, Omaha lost their third game in a row. All three of these losses have come by one run.
In a six-game series with Toledo, Omaha dug themselves an 0-3 hole to start. They lost on Tuesday 5-4, on Wednesday 8-7, and last night once again was a loss by one run.
The Mud Hens were up 3-0 heading into the top of the ninth inning when first-baseman Logan Porter hit his first Triple-A home run with a three-run blast.
The late, comeback effort was not enough as the first batter in the bottom of the ninth hit a solo home run to left-center field to walk off the game.
It has not been all bad on this road trip, however, as left-fielder Brewer Hicklen extended his on-base streak to 15 games in a row. He finished the game 1 for 3 with a walk and a run.
Last night’s loss gives the Storm Chasers a 51-56 record, making them seventh in the International League West.
Omaha will look to break their one-run loss streak and get back in the win column tonight in Toledo at 6:05 p.m.
